I wanted to become apart of the Big Event because I wanted to get involved with my community while fostering relationships with new people. Additionally, I believed it was a great way to get involved and make an impact on my campus as a Freshman.
Major: Information technology services
I wanted to be a part of the Big Event Student Executive Committee because I enjoy leading service learning projects, and seeing people do service projects to make a difference within themselves, the community, and the world. This is my last semester at Mississippi State University so it would be a honor to be a part of the Big Event Student Executive Committee and lead people in making a difference.
Major: Major: Biological Sciences
The Big Event means more than just going out and serving the community. It means you are part of something bigger. The city of Starkville has repeatedly been a home for student after student, year after year, and this is just a small way we can pay a community back that has given us so much! MSU is home, and that connection goes beyond campus.

major: Business Administration with concentrations in business law, business information systems, and finance
I wanted to be apart of the Big Event Student Exec because I always enjoyed volunteering for the big event so this was an exciting next step in participating for this event.
major: Fashion Merchandising/ minor in African American Studies
Being a part of the Big Event means I’m becoming apart of something bigger than myself and the campus. Starkville has taken so many students in and made us feel like we are at home even when we aren’t, the least I can do is give back to a community who has played such a pivotal role in my life. Hail State
Growing up, I always had a passion for serving my community. Whether it be volunteering at my local church or donating to a local shelter, I have always valued the importance of community service. As a person who believes in serving those around him, I believe being apart of the Big Event Student Executive Committee is an amazing opportunity. Organizing and implementing such a vital event will not only give me the chance to meet amazing people, but it will give me the opportunity to be a pillar in the Mississippi State University community.
Major: Political Science and Criminology (Pre-Law minor)
Having participated in the Big Event for the past two years, I have enjoyed giving back to the community of Starkville. I am a service oriented person and have worked on planning other service events during my time here. Becoming a planner for the Big Event just seemed like a natural fit for me.
